Fortnite Refund Option – Shortly after the release of patch 3.6, the highly coveted Refund option for skins and other cosmetic items was deactivated again. The developers People Can Fly reacted by taking advantage of this feature of Patch 3.6 and disabled this feature directly and will be repaired in the meantime. What this is all about and how some gamers took advantage of it, you can read in this article.
What the Fortnite Patch 3.6 has led to
The update with the version number 3.6 allowed Fortnite players to return items with the function “Independent exchange”. Fortnite as a Free2Play game is not financed by selling the full version, but through the cash shop, where gamers can buy various items for real money, including various skins, gliders, harvest tools and the premium battle pass. It is not paid with real money in the shop, but with V-Bucks, which can be exchanged for real money or earned in the game.
A bug in the system has now made this exchange system unstable and devastating. On Tuesday, April 24th, at 3 p.m., this exchange function was deactivated at short notice and communicated via Twitter.
Attention: Return period and restrictions on return
The developers of Fortnite announced already now that the function “Independent exchange” will soon be available again, but then with limited and above all error-free function. The limitation is, for example, that players can now return a maximum of three items per account. For every return the player gets V-Bucks credited to his account, so real money is not paid out. It is also no longer possible to return all items, but only items purchased within the last 30 days.
The following items are exchangeable:
- harvesting tools
- back accessories
The following items are excluded from exchange:
- Battle Pass
- Battle Pass Levels
- starter packs
- Start-up packages
- Founder Package Updates
- pouch Lamas
- Event items and weekly items
